Illegal practices and stall tactics after purchase

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have called and spoke with at least three different representatives on at least three different occasions. I tried using my timeshare for years, the website never worked. After I started trying to cancel, I would get phone calls from different vice presidents, representatives, even offers of having a certain person help me with using the timeshare. They all turned out to be bogus and the persons always didnt work there and longer after about a week or two after they had made empty me all these promises to me. When I would talk to the next person I could get in touch with; they said yes they saw all the emails and phone call records but no one decided to call me back until I tracked them down again. I bought this and have never been able to use it. When I would talk to the next person they said yes they saw all the emails but no one decided to call me back until I tracked them down again. I have offered to let them keep all the money as I paid mine off the first day I bought it. I have never been able to use it. I only want out so I dont have to pay the fees anymore every year for some thing I cannot use. I think I am being more than fair by losing all the money I have already given them. I held up my end of the contract and they did not hold up their end of the contract. I cannot express enough how you do not want to be in this organization with people that out right lie to you take your money and will not let you use what you paid for.

Agreed. We need to file a class action lawsuit. I’m checking into it after the first of the year.

Timeshare Presentation went south

Me and my wife agreed to sit down and hear a presentation as part of the amazing package the Save Branson put together. Had no idea what it was about and then the presentation. Dont get me wrong it sounds good on surface and all but they dont get into the details of how this scam works. The sales manager assigned to our sales rep to close the deal overstepped personal boundaries. Stay away from this Company.

My husband and I were rushed in a short amount of time. Told lies about giving us 2 free vacations for signing up that day. Bringing us back next year. We have 33,000 credits to use in 3yrs on vacations. I tried to contact members club when came back home for 5-6 months. NO ANSWER. Until my husband stopped payment. Then they called us, wanting their money. Now the credits to use are 20,000-30,000 for ONE vacation for 3 yrs. Still have to pay all your fees for the next 2 yrs until you get your 33,000 credits again. By the way, the 2 free vacations, you pay, taxes, sign up fees ($50-80) per person, docking fees. About $1,500.00. Some FREE vacations.

Was forced to except package in very limited amount of time.

on 7-7-2022 @ 12;30 I was invited to have a tour of sedona Pines resort. the presentor of the info. on resort package was told by the realtor representing me .Quote" cut it short"then the realtor rushed us out to another room .then he started laying out the price of $9,995. with a discount of $1000. and 33000 points and 3 weeks free which we could use in a 3yrs time frame. then a free trip for 2 to Hawii for 7days .so I had some questions about the list of all the places in the network that we could use, and some other questions on point systems ect. and he says listen there is another couple behind us and if you don't agree to this right now ;.I will be waiting a long time to do the paper work. so I said to him ,Quote; is this your ergencey close and he said yes. I said ,I will not operate or consider anything under those conditions. I just got up and left the resort. extremely high presure to sign with very little info. on the product package. DO not go to any tours at Sedona pines resort .

They lie and answer question with half truths. I rate them as a 0 rating.

Original review Feb 15, 2022

My wife I used points in RCI to go to Sedona Pines Resort in Sedona, AZ. We checked in on 1 February 2019.

We were asked to attend a meeting about the resort and its parent company Sapphire Resort the next day.

We arrived to attended the meeting on 2 February 2019 at about 12:45 PM that was to started at 1:00 PM. The meeting was late starting and did not start until about 2:00 PM. We were first in a waiting area waiting for the meeting to start, and then moved to a large meeting room. After the group presentation that took about an hour, we were all taken back to waiting area.

Couples were then asked to return to the meeting room for our one on one meeting with the sales representative. They seem to take the younger couples first for the one on one meeting. As we were in the waiting area for over 1 1/2 hours before we were one of the last couples selected to go for the one on one meeting. The one on one meeting lasted almost 2 hours.

As we were told about this new type of resort management.

You paid to be a member of the resort group and then just paid a fee for you resort credits. You could select a number of programs to get the credits. We selected the three year program, that they called the triennial. The total credits of 23,001 for the three years were placed in you membership account at the beginning of every three years cycle, and you paid 1/3 of the total three year fee each year.

The credits were then used to book a vacation in one of the resort groups many resorts. With this program you did not buy a week in any of the resort groups many resorts. Sapphire Resorts owned all of the resorts, and the resort members paid a fee to join and then paid an annual fee for the resort credits that were used to book time in one of the many resorts.

This all sounded like a nice system for taking a great vacation and not need to have the added expense to book the vacation through a company like RCI. As we had the one on one meeting with one of the sales representative, I read the statement on the top of the purchase agreement the that it was a timeshare project.

I stated we had a timeshare and did not want to buy into another one. He stated it was not like a timeshare that we had. That it was more like buying a membership in to a country club or a gym. I also asked about the Master (45 year right to use) membership, I stated we were 75 years old and we would be over 120 years old in 45 years.

He stated we could opt out at the end of the one of the three year periods when we needed to purchased the next group of credits, or we could give it to one of our kids or grand-kids. To me after what he stated, that we had the right to used the membership for 45 years, but that it was not mandatory that we were locked into a 45 year time commitment, and we could end the membership at anytime like a membership in a country club or gym. In 1988, my wife became ill and developed an autoimmune illness that effects her immune and energy systems. When she gets over tired or stressed it is very hard for her to interact and understand what people say or what she is reading.

The one on one meeting lasted for over 2 hours, as the sales representative we had, would give us things to read while he worked with one of the other couples.

Some of the time we would be waiting for 10 to 20 minutes before the sales representative came back to meet with us. Near the end of the meeting it was passed 5:30 PM, Kathy was getting very tired. She asked me to please get the process completed so she could go back to our room and take a nap.

I feel they had the older couples go last so they would be getting tired and easier to for them to miss understand statements made by the sales representative, and that the sales representative could give miss direction in the answers to questions asked by the couples they were working with.

We have never been able to use the credits to book a trip, as we had to take care of my 97 year old mother who passed away on 9 April 2020. We then felt we should stay home because of the virus and my wifes immune health problems.

On 5 August 2021 we had a call from Sapphires customer service to go over changes they have done to the credits program because of the virus. When looking at our account with the young lady we found that our 23,001 credits was now zero. She talked to her boss and they could take care of all of the problems if we went up to a new program and pay $5,500 more for our new level of membership. We said we did not want to spend more money and move up to the new program and that because of my wifes health the the virus we would just end our membership.

To end the membership we had to call a different department.

The person we talked to told us we were locked in for the 45 years and could not end our relationship with Sapphire Resorts.

We sent them a copy of what I posted here last year by certified mail.

I have the tracking date that they received it. I have only received Billing Statements and Phone Calls demanding money, no resolutions to the problems of their selling practices.

844-472-**** . Like every other American business post Covid there are staffing issues that can cause a short wait time, but you should have someone answer within 10 minutes. The worst call in days are Mondays and the best are Saturdays.

Sapphire Resorts - This place is a BIG SCAM
Updated by user Feb 10, 2022

This guy Eric Randal emailed me as if we could discuss this problem, but has yet to returned my call or email over a week now.

Original review Jan 10, 2022
When you are in the meeting with these people, they make everything sound so good, and now that I got this SCAM everything that I was promised has been a failure. I cannot book a trip as explained to me that I can just get up and go, because everywhere that I want to go is either booked and when I'm referred to this rci program there is nothing available there as well. MY ADVICE IS TO NOT GET YOURSELF IN THIS PROGRAM, ALL THAT WANT IS THE SELL AND YOUR MONEY. Don't let them tell you lies and TRAP YOU. I just want my refund and I'm stuck so SAVE YOURSELF THE BIGGG HEADACHE.

This is a scam from the word sapphire. We sat through the presentation and I knew it was BS right away. We almost pulled the trigger, but something kept telling me don't do it. They took us downstairs to talk, then another guy sat with us as I told them no. They dropped the price from 10,000 to 7,000 to 3,000 and were going to throw a trip to Hawaii in the deal. Furthermore, they did not like that I wanted to do research before I signed up. Save your time and money!!!
